Presents Master Classes in Ukrainian folk dance

July 22-29, 2007

Program:

The study of basic movements, their characteristics, and their performance.

Regions:

Trans-Carpathia, Hutsul, Bukovyna, Volyn, Polissia, Central Ukraine
Introduction to pantomime
Introduction to acting skills
Introduction to elementary theory of music.
This is a 3-year certificate program
Primarily for Ballet Masters and instructors
Courses for upgrading mastery levels

For Ballet Masters

Dance production and analysis of the ballet masters
Musical form
Musical themes and plasticity
Plot
Character
Assistance in organizing new concert programs for adult and children’s groups.
Acquaintance with the dance aesthetics of P.Virsky, and work with fragments of his dance program.
Acquaintance with contemporary aesthetics of Ukrainian folkloric stage dance.
Assistance with writing scenarios for programs and festive concerts.
Assistance with preparation of costume sketches and their production in Ukraine.

Workshop location – Ukrainian Park-Camp Morton 80 km from Winnipeg Cottages set in the woods on the shore of lake Winnipeg with a lovely beach area.

For students

Total fee for residents:
Full 7 days - $ 294.00
Daily
4 meals
2 hours – choreography
1 hour – music
1 hour – history of choreography
Discotheque or viewing of films.

For Ballet Masters

Total fee for residents:
Full 7 days - $ 500.00
Daily
4 meals
3 hours – choreography
1 hour – music
1 hour – history of choreography
Fishing, bonfire, barbecue, video, viewing of ballet films
